The senior Diocesan team, in consultation with colleagues at the Diocesan Retreat and Conference Centre, have today (13th March 2020) decided to close the Retreat Centre with immediate effect.
The closure will be for a minimum period of eight weeks (two months), and thereafter will be kept under regular review.
This decision has been made in light of the current concerns over the spread of Coronavirus and has been taken to ensure the safety and wellbeing of our staff and guests is paramount.
The Management Team at the Retreat Centre will be contacting all those who have made bookings to discuss their booking with them directly.
If you wish to discuss your planned booking with the Retreat Centre, please contact us
Bishop Woodford House is a purpose built retreat and conference centre opened in 1973 in the ancient cathedral city of Ely. It is just a few minutes’ walk from the beautiful cathedral, often referred to as "the ship of the Fens".
It is easily accessible by road from the M11, A14 and A10, and also by rail with good services to London and to the North and West.
Bishop Woodford House is located in the garden of the former Ely Theological College and is an oasis of peace and tranquillity. It benefits from being built relatively recently and offers a wide range of facilities.
